Mini Split – Mr Cool
The Mini Split (Heat Pump) by Mr. Cool is a DYI heat/cooling pump system. It was installed as a way to get efficient cooling in a home without a forced air option. This system has 2 units. One was installed in the main bedroom (9K) and the other in the living room (12k).
The application required a 30 amp breaker for proper power. This was installed by a licensed technician.
After the power was installed a day of work was required for installation. The main outside unit sits on a flat hard surface. It can also be hung on the outside of the building. The two head units required drilling a 3.5″ hole in each room. Electrical, cooling lines, and water return lines exit the holes and run to the service unit.
